Oven Fries

Who can pass up a recipe for fries that doesn't involve nasty oil flying everywhere?

These oven fries, with some extra garlic and seasoning of course, were so simple yet delicious.

Dinner Salad

I usually only eat salads for lunch and I usually only eat them at restuarants. This was just a huge exception. While at the gym, I read the recipe for this salad and since my peaches needed to be used immediately I had a salad for dinner. First the peaches were pealed, cut into wedges, coated in honey and balsamic vinegar, then cooked on each side for a couple minutes. They were placed on a bed of baby arugula dressed with a mixture of mustard and lime juice. Finally toasted almonds and bits of brie were sprinkled on top. Really good but I admit not the most filling dinner ever.

Back to school

So it is back to school, back to my apartment, and back to taking photos by the screen door. It's nice too be cooking in "my kitchen" again. This was just a simple super of sauteed zucchini witch sausage and mozzarella (I haven't bought Parmesan yet, I know *gasp*).

Frozen Custard

Summer was made for frozen treats. There is a frozen custard place near my parents' house and I decided to try it out. I had vanilla which is always my go-to flavor and its best friend cookie dough. Really what could be better on a hot afternoon? Sorry strawberry smoothie ;)

Berry Pizza

So this was supposed to be a berry tart, but the sides kinda all fell over. Thus I dubbed it the Berry Pizza, the latest fad in baking.

I basically followed this recipe. And then added some chocolate and powdered sugar- they never hurt anything.

Bright Beautiful Breakfast

I made homemade lemon curd which was the first time I've ever had lemon curd so I'm not sure if it turned out how it was supposed to, but it was absolutely delicious especially on a hot, flaky biscuit. The curd tasted like the filling of a lemon bar, yum! So my breakfast was the biscuit plus a greek yogurt parfait with blue berries and black berries topped with some toasted almonds. Easy and ready in minutes. It was a bright, tasty start to the day.
